So the moment that I knew was coming from day one came yesterday. Branyanu summoned my EVE character to Nafrivik and started giving me all her stuff. And her stuff is quite a bit considering how long we played (not that long.) Several ships, items, and several million ISK.

Tarkheena was canceling her EVE account.

I knew from the start that EVE wasn’t going to be something that she liked long-term. Heck, I’m not sure I’m going to like it long-term. But I lost my hunting/mining partner and now I’m going to have to play solo or with new friends. That is always something that is a second choice for me. I’d rather duo with her most of the time.

The nature of EVE is such that I can play with little commitment for now, just logging in to start training a new skill while I am off line. In the meantime, we can try some new games together and if I end up coming back and wanting to play EVE in a committed manner, she will move the 360 into the office and play casual games on the nights I play EVE.

As a byproduct of this, I now have a little wealth that I can use to get started. I have a little under 30 million ISK that we have accumulated together, plus half that again in resources and equipment. So if I DO decide to make this an important game in my schedule I should be able to afford everything I need to get going.

I’ll miss having that JetCan filling up so fast and her there to kill the rats or mine while I do.

Drop me a note ingame and I can talk with you about options for having more people to play with. :)

Did she set a long skill before quitting? Might be worth it to come back someday..

Hey…I am not the one who bought Tabula Rasa on the way home from work. ;)

Seriously though…I feel like the Beverly Hills wife who has a closet full of clothes, but “has nothing to wear”. I am almost ashamed to say…I am playing City of Villains again. PLEASE Warhammer…accept my beta application!

Not to mention all the unplayed Xbox 360 games that are calling out to me. I know, I know.

And for clarity, I bought the TR at lunch.

Well…the “Eve” of change is now complete…lol. Genda canceled his Eve account last night. Not sure if it was because I wasn’t playing anymore or if it was because he still had 15 days left to train on his next skill level. Actually, we are both trying to consolidate on the number of games we subscribe to. We also canceled our Tabula Rasa accounts last night too. I really think that I will stick to the fantasy games. That is where my heart really lives. Unless I can make a green Orion slave girl when Star Trek Online comes out (if it ever does), I will probably end up staying with my fantasy games. Genda reinstalled EQ2 last night. And as usual…I will probably follow suit.

If you come back to EQ2, join the bloggers channel :) the more the merrier!
